Downgrading from Android 2.2.1 to 2.2

Alright, I need assistance in downgrading my LG Vortex.

When I purchased it, they had Android 2.2.1 loaded, instead of 2.2.
As far as I can tell, 2.2.1 exists exclusively to block rooting.

But it just doesn't seem to be working for me. I get to this step:

If you?re on Windows XP, hit start, click on ?Run?, and run this:
regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Model\LGVS660\VS660.dll"

And all that comes up, is this: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b119/RavynCrescent/regsvr32.gif

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Any tips? Anyone know an easier way?

make sure your phone is off.. it had to be for when i did it for some reason. Maybe redownload the files and redo it. If you have another computer you could always try it on another computer. Mine didnt give me a problem when i did it just make sure you follow the directions and you should be good. do them step by step!

I just did this last night and got stuck in the same place as you. I had to decompress all of the RAR files and run all of the .msi files before it would find the correct .dll file.

You were right, dwb993! However, now it keeps crashing....everything.LG Navigator force closes, as does gmail, automatically.
When I try to download Z4 Root, my phone shuts down in the middle...
