Download folder on home screen?

I can't seem to find away to do this. I'd like to be able to click a icon on my home screen that instantly opens my downloads.

use astro file manager.

Let me try to expand on @gunnermike53's response.

I think what he means is download Astro File Manager: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.metago.astro&feature=search_result. When you open the app, long press on your downloads folder, and select "Set as Home". Whenever you click the Home icon in Astro, that folder will open. You can place a shortcut to Astro on your home screen.

Another option is to use the app that came preinstalled on your phone called "My Files". Place a shortcut to that on your home screen. It has the same option as Astro, which is the ability to set your Download folder as your home folder.

I use the My Files app because it has no ads like the free version of Astro.
