Downloaded Music Doesn't Appear In Players

Hi guys,
This is my first post to the forum following my switch from iPad to Nexus 7. I seem to have hit a bit of a snag with my music. I've been downloading music to my Music folder using both USB and the Box.net app, but none of my music apps see any of the new files. I've tried Google Music and Winamp thusfar with no success. I can see the files and manually launch them from Astro File Manager, so I know they're there. Any insight?

I have heard somewhere that the music need to index to show up on the music player and rebooting will reindex it.
just reboot. this might fix it. if not will try other trobleshooting
