downloading apps to old phone

I am going to download some apps to my old phone using my Google play account on it for my kids. Will these apps show up on my new phones screen? thank you

Welcome to Android Central. No, they'll only be on the phone you download them to. Keep in mind though, depending on how old your phone is, some apps may have been upgraded and may no longer work. If, once you choose the older phone in Play Store for the install, you see a note that it's not compatible, that's most likely what happened.

so even though I am using the same account nothing will show on my new phone. just to clarify. unjust don't want a bunch of kids apps on it.

Yes, they won't show up.
I have a tablet and a phone with my account on it, and they don't have the same set of apps installed.
