I am considering getting a Google Nexus 7 for use when traveling (hiking and kayaking) in wilderness settings where there is neither internet nor mobile phone service. Because there are no good maps or nautical charts for these places in less developed countries, I would like to download Google Earth images or other enhanced satellite images prior to traveling so that these can be used while traveling.
Is this possible? If so, how?
When available, I'd also like to download and use topographical maps and nautical charts prior to traveling. Info regarding the best software to use and related advice will be greatly appreciated.
