Downloading photos in SMS

I cannot get my phone to download pictures in text messages in the stock message application.

All I see is a blank message blurb with a grey "downloading" text beneath it, but nothing ever happens. I try to long press the message to look at the details but I get no other prompts to download the image.

Anyone have this problem or know of a solution? I used to think it wouldn't download because I didn't have a data connection at the time the message was sent, but since then I've had other pictures attempted to be sent to me with a wifi connection and still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think MMS uses wifi. It has to go through AT&T and their network, so it has to download over the mobile network.

Even when I had 3G on it still wouldn't go through. Hmm... I'll have to try it again.

Anyone else maybe have a solution for this or problems similar to mine? I've tried again on both 3G and WiFi and the pictures will not download. Here's what I get, hopefully you can make it out?
