On Android 5 it is possible to download MMS automatically while phone data is turned off, via a setting that turns data on automatically in the background to download the MMS, then turns the data off again once downloaded. Or something along those line anyway.
I read a while back that Android 6, for some reason or another, discontinues this ability. Has this been changed? Or are there text messaging or other apps that do his? I am thinking of upgrading to Android 6 but do not want to leave my data on all the time and do not want to mess around switching data on and off whenever I get an MMS. (I don't get a lot of them, but it is still a nuisance.)
Thanks.
