Downloads Blocked?

I just switched from AOSPCMod to Froyo and every time I try to download a file in the stock browser it says download unsuccessful on my notifications. Is this a stupid restriction that VM put on our phones? Is there some sort of workaround for this?

actually its something wit android 2.2 & under im not sure exactly what tho but all u have 2 do is install astro file manager then open astro then press menu> more> preferences go all the way to the bottom n check enable browser downloader
