For some reason a picture that I had been trying to download when the did a reboot is stuck. It shows it attempting to download. How do I get rid of it?

Can you forcestop the downloads app? Would that do anything?

If there, I can't find it. I tried going to the download section, but it doesn't show up there. It only shows what has already been downloaded. I've tried shutting down the phone and restarting a couple of times and that hasn't worked either.

try airplane mode, then a battery pull if you haven't. also, try stopping the stock browser in the apps setting.

The battery pull didn't work. I actually did that last night because of the phone freezing up in the during the download. I was trying to download a picture from email.

Several reboots, a battery pull and such nothing was able to make it stop. It ended up just stopping on its own after hours of being there.

Glad it got fixed
I wouldnt try to download that picture off that email again if it was me

I don't think it was the picture itself. I have downloaded numerous pictures. I think the freeze of the phone and then subsequent reboot is what did it. I just wish ICS had an option to force stop a download, which apparently it doesn't. But, it does go away when you wait long enough.

I've been getting the exact same thing the last 24 hours or so. While the download bar is grayed out, I can try to re-save the same pic and it downloads immediately. I figured it had something to do with me updating to 4.0.4 and installing Nova Launcher.

Guess not. Like you said, though... it eventually goes away on its own every time.

glad it finally stopped.

yeah, it's happened to me too. just can't remember exactly what i did to stop it though lol

Sometimes I have a similar problem with failed downloads on the amazon app store. I go to settings> apps, find the app and clear data. That always let's me swipe away the notification. Just have to log back into amazon.

Just thought about something: are you using Dolphin when it happens? I use the stock browser and Dolphin, but so far this has only happened with Dolphin.

Too be fair, I haven't been downloading images with the stock browser.
