Downloads no longer saving to downloads folder.

Hi,

I have been using my tablet running Android 4.4.2 for almost two years now. Normally, I would view a document such as a pdf, and then hit the download button from the menu. Documents were always saved in the downloads folder. That is no longer happening and I don't know where they are being saved.

it is interesting that I look wherever I can, with the "files" explorer and I never see the new files. I have a lot of files that I have loaded previously but not the new files.

One more thing: I took one of the previously loaded files and renamed it. Poof, it is gone! Can't find it in downloads with the new or old name.

What is happening here?

Depends on what browser you're using. You may have unknowingly changed the default save directory for your saved files, in which case, you can just go back to settings and revert it back to default.
That's pretty much the only reason i can think of for this to be happening but in case if I'm wrong, you can also clear your browsers data by going to Settings > App Manager. That should revert all the settings back to default and your files should get saved in the same directory in which they used to.
