Doze doesn't work

Yeah, 100 to 99% drop in 2.5 hours is not an indication of any issue.

Sounds like Doze is working fine...without Doze, your battery level probably would have dropped 10%-20% over the 2.5 period

But with or without doze, if a Nexus 6 dropped 10-20% over 2.5 hours, there is something seriously wrong with that phone :) Even before Marshmallow, my N6 would drop *only* about 9% overnight (8 hours) in standby. Now, with doze, it drops about 2% in the same duration.

That's only 0.4%/h. That's pretty low to be honest. Doze takes about an hour to kick in, so with that in mind, you're fine. If you let it go for another hour or so, that would probably slow down even more... I've seen it as low as 0.15%/h overnight.

My Nexus 6 does that all the time. No big deal. Now if it dropped down to 96% in 2 hours then I know I have to reboot.

Is there any way to tell if Doze is active other than observing battery life?
Apparently there are no Doze settings?
But are there individual app settings that interact with Doze that could be reviewed?

Settings --> Battery. Tap the menu button (the three dots), then tap Battery optimization. Tap the down arrow, then tap All apps from the menu that appears.
Now, tap the app for which you want to disable Doze, and in the box that appears, tap Don’t optimize.
