DQA has stopped bug

Anyone know about This? I saw it in a thread somewhere but can't find it. I opened up my Samsung internet app and it popped up.

DQA is short for data quality assessment, which monitors Wi-Fi data connections.... according to another website I just read. Apparently this is when your device is trying to communicate via your Wi-Fi. Something new they introduced with the last patch update.

I'm currently seeing it and I'm not using Samsung's browser or any other browser... I'm just sitting at home and every time I unlock my device I see the error.

Hmmm. Are you using any other Samsung app? I'm only using the Samsung email app and I haven't seen the error message.

No... I just unlock my phone and I'm seeing it. Not all the time, but frequently. Of course I am connected to my home's Wi-Fi, and I don't want to turn that off since I don't need any additional data charges while I'm at home.

I did go out for a number of hours, and while I was away I never saw the error... and I was never connected to any Wi-Fi routers while I was out, but I was using my device fairly regularly.

Not me.... I'm on the phone right now with Verizon CS (not fun)... they just said almost verbatim what is in that Android Authority article, including paying $1.50 for the app to disable this system app. Now, they are trying to bring Samsung's CS on the phone line as I'm type... still waiting for someone to pickup the line.

You can turn it off.

Go into settings
Apps
App manager
Click the three dots on the top left corner and select show system apps
Scroll to DQA and click on it
Them force stop.

I have done this and have no more warnings and have not seen any strange issues with having it force closed.

It's so strange that it affects only some percentage of the phones but not all of them. I haven't seen this error yet. If we can find what's different in our settings or WiFI environment, we can come up with a workaround? Do you have 'Smart Network Switch' enabled or disabled in Wi-Fi advanced settings?

I did do a force stop as directed by Verizon CS.... and so far I have not seen the error, but that's only been about 30-45 minutes so far... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Well that sucks. Maybe it will take some time to roll out. I seen that and thought cool beans for you guys I having the issue they fixed it fast, thought I would share it with you guys and gals.

I'm not getting the error, but I noticed I keep losing internet connection over WiFi. I was downloading watch faces for my Gear S3 and it kept hanging. That's when I noticed the exclamation point next to the WiFi indicator, and in checking the WiFi, saw that the signal was excellent, but no internet. And internet was working fine in the house, so it must be the phone. I wonder if this is related to the DQA bug?
