Android Central Question

Recently I bought a new phone, LG thinq 7. It was a gift but I bought it online so when I got it I opened it to see if everything is fine with it. After that I forgot to turn it off. Some months later I met with that person and gave the phone. It was of course dead, but I put it on charge and removed it from charging when it was 82%. He was so excited about it and he used it like 30 mins at the most and the batherry dropped at 65%. Why it dropped so much and so fast? Is it because of the first discharge that it was completly?

Fully discharging a Li-ion battery to the cutoff point can slightly damage the battery. Letting that happen, then allowing it to sit that way for a long time is what did it in for good.

So yes, you need a new battery.

Try running it through, 100% down to 50%, a few times first, to see if it comes back up. Just normal usage - charge it, then use it, about 3-4 times.

Welcome to Android Central! I'd also venture the notion that using a phone for about 30 minutes could drain the battery-for example, if you're playing games; using Netflix or YouTube; etc.
