Droid 2 and a couple questions

Couple questions about the Droid 2.
1) When I take it off the charger it drains to 90% pretty quickly, it holds at 90% for awhile. Is this normal?
2) The keyboard and quick keys don't always light up. Verizon told me it is a software glitch. Is anyone else having this?

It takes a few charges for the battery to get conditioned. I am far more happy with the battery performance on my D2 thanks I am on my DINC.

The keyboard and soft keys only come on in low light levels. Atleast that has been my experience.

I think that is a possibility. On my phone, I notice the soft keys switching on and off as well especially if I'm moving from area of the house to another and the light levels are different.
