Droid 2 global sim question

I have a droid two global, without a sim card and at the lock screen it says up top, verizon wireless no sim installed. Does anyone know how to remove this it drives me crazy? Thanks in advance!

Mine has a bad sim and I get the same thing. I haven't figured it out either, other than there is no way to get rid of it short of installing one or rooting the phone.
