hi ima upgrade on march 28th and i could get the droid 2 for free because my brother is getting it and i can get a second 1 free but i dont want the same phone as his i could get another phone but the droid 2 is the only android phone on Verizon that has a keyboard so what im trying to say is should i get the droid 2 or wait for the htc merge to come out if it does come out on Verizon cause i heard it might come out on alltel or is there another android phone with a keyboard that has some good specs plzzzz help

Does is have to be a slide out keyboard cause their is the Droid Pro which has a touchscreen and keyboard but it has more of a Blackberry form factor. And has pretty much the same specs.

I don't know what phone you currently have so this may or may not help. I have a Storm1 and planning to be an Android convert in the next few months. I was originally wanting a slider keyboard myself because my only experience typing on a touch screen is my Storm1 and it's definitely not user friendly. I had the opportunity to try a droid screen and there was a HUGE difference. I no longer feel a physical keyboard is a must-have.

I would definnitely get the Droid 2. Motorola makes better phones than HTC in my opinion. And the Droid 2 is so sweet. I have the D2G and I couldn't be happier. Despite what you may hear, motoblur isn't bad at all. Trust me, you can't go wrong with the D2.

I would suggest the merge (if it ever comes out) HTC makes awesome keyboards, there is no doubt about it. Plus, HTC sense is a great UI.

I am in almost the same situation but I am holding off to find out if the merge will have a locked bootloader or not. The droid 2 is a nice phone but the lack of ability to load different kernel roms is a no go for me.
