Been a follower of the forums for a while now and haven't seen this issue addressed by anyone else yet.

My auto-sync never turns off. The sync icon pops up on the notification bar and never goes away. When I check the sync menu in settings, nothing is syncing.

If I don't manually turn sync off, my battery dies in record time.

This really bothers me as I can't sync anything.

I don't use a task manager. Anyone else having or had this issue? I really want this fixed.

i'm assuming you've tried rebooting your phone? once or twice, a process has locked up on my phone, and a reboot fixed it. I haven't had any issues with sync being on 100% of the time, but i would imagine a reboot may help.

Try going to ->settings->applications->filter all->gmail->manage space-> set syncing to 4 days. Make sure settings->sync->background data is checked and gmail is syncing. Powerdown / on phone. Hopefully this should fix it.

Or you could put the power control tool bar widget on your home screen, and turn the auto sync on and off at your convenience

Thanks. Testing the manage space tip. As for the tip about the power control, I shouldn't have to turn my sync on and off manually. But thanks for the tip.

EDIT: It has been set at 4 days.

EDITAGAIN: As in it was set to 4 days to begin with. Still having my issue after all the tips.
