Hey,
Anybody else experience their call log deleting itself? I've had my droid for about a month and it's only just started doing this.
THanks

Check to see if your favorites are still there. I've had this happen once when the call log and favorites deleted themselves.

That's a first. I've never heard of this occurring. Perhaps it's a 3rd party app you've recently installed that is creating the issue or it's a fluke.

My call log get a bit laggy from time to time... but I havent had that problem.

Is it recommended to erase your call log from time to time? Does it slow the phone down in anyways??

I haven't done it yet, I can stroll on my call log forever.. I havent tried it but it believe it will take me to when I first got the phone...

This is new to me... I remember from my Blackberry days that when memory was maxed out it started deleting old messages. Maybe it's a memory optimiztion automatic setting.

Check available memory, try a reboot (NOT battery pull, just a plain old control/alt/delete reboot).

This might be the first occurence of low memory message deletion. It would be intersting if that was the case. I'd be interested in seeing what you're available memory is BEFORE a reboot.

Only problem is... how do you check it unless you make a dozen calls and then wait a day to see if it stays?

One thing you might consider is syncing your call log and text messages with an application like Missing Sync for Android. While I think it's outrageously priced, it does work well and the ability to backup these important files and view them on the desktop has been a nice feature. As for call logs disappearing, this is new to me as well. I don't think this is a widespread problem.

this did happen to me. However, the more I look at it, it's very possible I accidentally hit the "clear call log" menu option one night. Or that upon installing custom roms or hacking the phone myself I did somethign to clear it. Either way, hasn't happened since and I kind of like clearing it from time to time.

I haven't tried the reboot yet but here's what's going on...also, it hasn't happend since I posted.
Also, Definitely not paying for anyting to back up the call log. I barely make any phone calls, the call log is just generally the easiest place for me to dial from becuase I call the same people over and over.
Avail: 9.2MB+13MB in 4
other: 54MB in 3
I don't fully understand what this makes
I remember having this issue with my old blackberry pearl- surprisingly, it never happend with my storm.

I had my call log emptied again...but this time I watched it happen. At midnight last night - my phone did it's automatic sync (set for Gmail & Facebook)...I was looking at my favorites and they disappeared...and all of my contacts...and my call log got cleared. AFTER the sync was over, my favorites and contacts came back (without FB pics).

Very frustrating...forcing a sync takes a while and what I really have to make a phone call? Guess I have to go back to memorizing some phone numbers!

Any resolution to this problem? I lost all of my contacts, call log and favorites. Woke up this morning and they were gone. Contacts recovered from Google, but favorites and call log are gone. I also lost my Facebook and LinkedIn contacts. I'm still having trouble getting FB and LI to sync.
