Is there some kind of Droid cat repellant? Or an app that will ward off cats? I'm totally serious, my cat will not stay away from my Droid. Where ever the phone is, he'll jump up onto it and lay next to it and has even stepped on it. I don't want the cat to break my phone and I don't want to throw my cat against the wall if he does break it. He's even tried to take a bite out if it.

Someone needs to develop an app that will make the phone scream when something get to close to it, it has a proximity sensor so its possible.

Put you phone in a case on yyour belt, problem solved. Also, even if the cat steps on it, I doubt anything will happen. Droids are tough.

This should solve the problem.

Seriously. Try an app called "dog whistle" just search that phrase. It makes the Droid emit a frequency that only dogs hear. Might work on cats. I have not used it - but, might work. I just stumbled upon it a while ago. I searched again right now and saw one to emit a frequency to repel mosquitoes.

Don't know if cats will hear it. Give it a shot. Speaking of giving shots. .... that previous post did have a good point.

I accidentally threw my phone about 4ft from the ground or so high in the air and probably 6-8ft from where I was standing and it landed on the glass and just knocked off my case protector on that side and was all good. The phone is tough and I doubt there is anything your cat can do besides directly pissing on it that will mess it up.

Also if you get a squirt bottle and spray your cat when it does something bad it might learn to keep away. \

Get a cat scratching post and soak it with liquid cat nip - the cat would be so fascinated with that it will forget about the phone.

Your cat will also get stoned, but that is a worthwhile side effect just for the amusement value alone.

Phil.

LOL!
This thread is too funny!!
Honestly... catnip. Nuf said.

And our Droids are quite durable. I've actually used mine once to subdue a tweaker trying to mug me at a car wash, by throwing my Droid and nailing him dead center on his forehead... thus knocking him on his ass.
When I went to retrieve me Droid, it was in perfect working order and without a scratch. ;)

yea, i think it's the heat that attracts them, my friends cat won't stay away from either it or my laptop whenever i go over.

pushing them off the table a few times usually works.

hey, cat's are made of rubber, they won't get hurt. neither will the droid if they step on it. but then standing on the keyboard (of the laptop) WHILE i'm typing is pretty annoying
