These are my current thoughts on the lineup of these phones. Keep in mind that I haven't tried out ANY of these phones yet.
I really like the Droid Charge, but the fact that it isn't a dual core phone somewhat bothers me. I will be locked into the phone for 2 years and I would like to have the latest/greatest technology for the time being. I have no idea if having a dual-core phone will actually benefit me nor if my usage will take advantage of it. One of my favorite features of this phone is the gorgeous 4.3" Super AMOLED screen. I also hear the battery life is pretty healthy on this phone which is important. Having LTE is also a great plus to this phone, but I am unsure of how often I will use it. I don't live in an LTE area (closest area is about 45 minutes from me. Would I pick up a signal from that far away?).
The other phone I am considering is the Droid 3. I like the fact that it has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. I do quite a bit of texting and my current phone (OG Droid) also has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which I always use. I have no idea how difficult it will be transitioning to a phone without one (but I am open to the idea). The phone doesn't have LTE which is a bit of a letdown. I think having a dual-core phone is a bit more important than LTE, but it would be nice to have both. I have heard the pentile screen isn't too hot on this phone either especially when compared to that of the Super AMOLED on the Charge. I also wonder if 4.0" screen is too small compared to the 4.3". Does it truly make a big difference?
Lastly, is the Droid Bionic. I have been eagerly anticipating this phone since its announcement. I was dead set on this phone when I found out it was coming 8/4 (I can upgrade on 7/30 so waiting a few more days isn't an issue). There are rumors saying the phone will not release now until 9/1. It seems as if this phone is never going to release and I'm growing tired of waiting. I want an Android phone already! This phone does seem to have the best of both worlds touting both LTE and dual core. I just don't know if I can wait that long.
I am just at a loss on which phone to go with. Should I just upgrade to a Droid Charge or a Droid 3 or wait it out for the Bionic?
Thanks so much for all your help and input. I truly appreciate it!
