I updated PdaNet+ last night which is now working with Verizon and jellybean. However in the process of creating a WIFI hotspot you have to create a screen lock pin. Now I'm having a problem with turning off the screen lock pin. I no longer have the option to select "None" or " Face Unlock". Both say: " Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage. I have uninstalled PdaNet and FoxFi which have made no difference. Any ideas on how to fix the issue? Seems like the Razr Maxx has the same thing going on http://forums.androidcentral.com/droid-razr-maxx/267423-im-stumped.html

Well I figured it out. Thought I would post the solution in case anyone else has this happen. Just go to Settings>Security>Clear Credentials (under the credential storage menu). Fixed.

People still use PDANet? I always used some free root access app in the past, but now I have just been using the mobile hotspot app that it comes with from Verizon. Whats the reason to use anything else?

I don't have my phone rooted, and if I use the hotspot app it will charge me $20 a month I believe. Maybe I'm wrong on that? I still have a gf unlimited data plan which tells me to call *611 to subscribe to mobile hotspot when I open the preloaded app. PdaNet works without having your device rooted or paying a monthly fee.

Yeah, i used to use PdaNet on my thunderbolt before I rooted it. It wasn't bad, but the root hotspot apps are much better IMO. I'm not too sure how the payment on the hotspot thing works, since I'm on my dads plan I don't worry too much about it, and he told me that he didn't have to upgrade his plan, and that its just part of the monthly data allowance, which we never even come close to.

I tried clearing the credentials, and I was able to turn the lock screen off (selected NONE), but then when I went to use FoxFi via PDANet, it made me set up a lock screen again.

Thanks a million! :) The"clear credentials" instantly fixed the problem of not being able to change way to unlock screen.

PDA net and foxfi only require the screen lock when you are starting the hotspot. After the app is started, activate the hotspot, you can go to security settings, remove credental for PDA and foxfi, then remove the screen lock. Pda net will run fine until you reboot your droid or turn off the hotspot and then try to reactivate the hotspot.
Hope that helps.
P.S. I have the paid version. I wonder if the free version is the same as far as the screen lock.
