Droid Eris getting 2.0

I am considering going back to Verizon to get either an Eris or a Droid and I was wondering if Droid Eris is getting the 2.0 update? I haven't been able to find any clear cut info and normally these message boards are far better sources of info then normal online articles.

No one yet knows for sure what version the Eris will be receiving in its next update. However, it has been confirmed by both Verizon and HTC that it will be "a newer" version including Google Maps Navigation BETA. It could be 2.0, 2.1, 1.6 - no one knows yet.

Yes, the Hero has been confirmed by Sprint to be getting 2.1. My guess is the Eris will get it too.

I agree, as it would be aggravating if the Hero were to receive 2.1, and not it's under-belly identical twin - the Eris.

As I'm sure most of you know Verizon employees were trained on the HTC Eris's that are running Android 2.0. So there is absolutely no doubt that the Eris is getting 2.0 its just a matter of when. Or if we could just get our hands on one of those Eris's
