Droid Eris to Moto Droid?

I like the Eris a lot - the small form factor - and I don't need a powerhouse phone but a friend came over and showed me his Droid with 2.0 and I was really jealous. I know 2.1 is around the corner but if I can get a Droid for under $300 new should I go for it?

I always wanted a physical keyboard also but I like the small form factor of the Eris. Honestly I wanted a physical keyboard because the virtual qwerty sometimes lags. How heavy is it? Will I really feel the difference? I do want 2.0 or even 1.6 that has navigation and of course everyone e wants faster

It is heavier, and you'll notice it in your hands. But thats something you learn to forget about. It turns into a "wow your phone is lighter than my droid" and not a "wow, my droid is HEAVY"

Yeah the Navi is fantastic. It now has a night-mode on it for better nighttime navi

and do you think i should wait for the 2.1 to come out on the Eris? The N1 will be like $550 like it was with TMobile? I don't have more than $300 to throw away on the phone. Besides my wife will have my head just for thinking about upgrading to the Droid when I just got the Eris a couple months ago.

I'd you like the form factor of the Eris and your only problem is with the operating system, then keep the Eris and wait patiently for the update. It should be here in a couple of weeks.
