So, on the magical day of the EVO 4G launch I... Bought an Incredible. And I can't wait to get it. I played with it in the store for about 30 minutes. Awesome phone.
It'll be my first smartphone, although I consider myself to be an Apple aficionado. I've owned an iPod touch since they were first release (September of '07) and have used that as my 'smart' device.
Anyways, it'll be great getting a new device (sick and tired of iPhone OS!), learning a new OS, and having fun while doing it.
Anyways, I walked into the Verizon Store today, and it was immediately apparent that Verizon is pushing two smartphones: the Palm Pre Plus, and the DROID Incredible. As soon as I walked in, an employee came up and tried to get me to buy the Pre. After I denied, and mentioned DROID, she was like "Ah, the Incredible!" and that's how that happened (I walked in knowing what I wanted). Overall great experience, so kudos to them for being nice and knowledgeable. Anyways, walking up to the sales counter, I was informed that they would be shipping by the 24th, with overnight, although there were some customers reportedly getting their phone's earlier than expected.
Another thing that stood out to me: there are a lot of Incredibles out there. Walking in to the store, I saw at least 5 people with them, asking for help, paying the bill, or setting it up. Crazy stuff. I didn't know how popular Android was getting; these were normal people.
And that's that story.
Anyways, see you around the forums!
P.S. I've been around for a little while, just decided I'd intro today since I just bought a device.
