Droid Maxx: Improvements with 4.4?

Make sure to reboot after doing update if still having problems do factory reset. If still having issues its probably app related not with kit kat.

One very minor subtle change I noticed is that the native battery meter on the top right used to show discharge in what I believe to be increments of 10%, so as your battery went from 100%-90%, it didn't actually indicate anything until it hit 90%. Now it appears to display it in more real time, because even at 98%, there is a little sliver of the blue gone to indicate that some battery has been discharged. It's not really an improvement that changes my perception of the phone, but just something I noticed with the update.

If you enable Developer Options (Tap build number 7 times, Settings/About Phone) there is a menu called "Process Stats" its a built in, more detailed battery info. It will show you what app or service is sucking battery.

I noticed you can't activate voice typing in the Google Now page (long press and drag up from Home) by saying OK, Google. Minor inconvenience as I have to press the microphone key now. Or, I could just set up 'always listening'.

Still works on my device.

I've tried to use the voice unlock feature but haven't had it work yet. Pretty sure I enabled it but it just sits there on the pin lock screen.

So the best thing that was updated was the multi tasking key. Before it took 1 or more taps to get it to work but now it is smooth. I am loving it.

Mine was still not working right until I did a factory data reset. It's been fine ever since.

hi . can you tell me what the multi tasking key is and how it works

It's the bottom right button next to the home key. It shows a list of running tasks that you can switch to (by tapping on them), and you can close running apps by sliding them to the right (and left, I think, but I always slide right.) For some reason under Jellybean there were problems with the button for some (most?) people - it would not show the proper list of apps until you tapped it two more times, or it wouldn't show the list at all when you tapped the button the first time.

thanks

It is the button all the way on the right side. It brings up recent used applications so you can switch between apps. If there is another name for it and I am wrong I apologize in advance. It is buttery smooth or greased lightning on mine now.

I saw that a lot across two different phones.. glad it is fixed.
