I seem to be having alot of problems with phone calls on my droid and was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem

bascially the screen is not locking when i go into a call , i can feel the phone vibrating against my face because im assuming my face is touching the soft keys , and i am constantly putting myself on mute or hanging up on people.

any ideas of what this could be ?

i also sometimes get stuck in this black out loop while im on a call and try to unlock the phone

anyone else having droid phone problems ? ive check all my settings and cant find anything

i would try cleaning your screen and reboot the phone. See if it fixes it. If not, your proximity sensor maybe bad.

long story short i work at a verizon retailer , upgrade on my plan than moved the phone to my employee line , phones jumping accounts lose warranity :( thank god the droid is so solid :D

Couldn't you get Asurion to replace it?
And I'm thinking it's a software issue. I know it sucks to, but have you tried a factory reset yet?

I'm having the same problem. Very frustrating! I downloaded an app called mylock phone tools which locks the screen during calls. Does what it's supposed to. Haven't hung up on anyone since I downloaded it.

i dl'd this today, but when the phone locked during a call, i hit the camera button to unlock the screen and it didnt work.

Hm ill have to give that app a try , but its frustrating shouldn't the phone automatically do this ?

it doesnt seem to do it as much since i changed my screen protector

i guess next ill try the app and then the wipe........

which i really dont feel like doing haha

my replacement droid has been doing this too. Sometimes the screen locks and won't unlock sometimes it doesn't lock during a call. usually it'll be blank during a call and if i need the screen, i have to open the keyboard and it'll turn on. My 1st Droid was really slick, just pull it away form my face and the screen popped back on.

If you have long hair, it causes problems with the proximity sensor. There is a app called screen suite that locks your phone during a call.

now my screen has refused to lock all together except for backlight time out ,

unlocks fine , but push the same button to lock it and the bottom does nothin

WHAT GOING ON!!!!!

It's a built-in feature that the phone goes dark when it's next to your head (or thumb is over sensor). This is to save battery life I suppose. It frustrates the hell out of me too! I tried mylock phone tools, it doesn't keep my phone screen on either, but it does give "touch button" answering instead of the "slide to answer" method. I like that.

Still, I want my phone screen to stay lit, can't find an app or setting to do that! grrrr.
