Droid Pro Activation

Hello,

One of my friends bought me a Droid Pro from Amazon Wireless without a Verizon Contract.
He shipped it to Hong Kong where I live.

After I turned on the phone, I was required to "activate" my phone by making a phone call.
But I'm not able to do it here in Hong Kong.

I did some research on the Internet and found that I could activate it online.
But I'm still not able to do it as I don't have a Verizon phone number with me.

Is there anything I can do to "activate" my phone here in Hong Kong?
Or is there any kind of services that can help me to do so with a few bugs?

I also found that I am able to get rid of the "sim lock" by paying few bugs to a guy and obtain the PIN code.
I'm wondering if I can "activate" my phone after "getting rid of the sim lock".
The main problem is actually whether I can make that "activation phone call"

Well first, on droid x you can get past the activation screen by taping the 4 corners of the screen starting top left and going clockwise. Might work for the pro. As far as the activation, if will likely be able to use it when you get it unlocked for the sim card.

So now, probably my question is, is that "activation" necessary for me to "make phone calls" after getting rid of that "SIM lock"?

Plus I've already passed that activation screen by tapping the four corners.
