DROID RAZR HD Notification LED can it be replaced?

My Notification LED slowly got dim over a day or two then is now completely out? I've done a couple of factory resets and nothing worked. Can the LED itself be replaced?

Everything can be replaced - but opening the phone isn't a D-I-Y job - if you don't have some experience working inside cellphones, you'll almost certainly break something - that will cost a LOT more to get fixed than an LED.
