Droid Razr M - Group Text & Mobile data

My Droid Razr M makes me turn on the mobile data in order to send or receive a group text message. Is this normal??? Is there something I can do??? This happens even when I an connected to wifi & I have unlimited txt msging.

Are you using the standard messaging app?

That's because some texting apps use MMS for group texts. There is usually a setting to turn MMS off for group messages but that may cause some issues..
