Hello, everyone. I am new to this forum and I didn't see any other posts for this problem. Ok, my wife recently got a Droid Razr M and all was fine till I installed her old SD from her Droid Incredible 2. Then she noticed that everyday a couple of times a day she was getting these ads popping up on her phone. By popping up I mean they would rise up from the bottom of the screen, stop about 1/4 of the way up the screen. Stay there for about 5 seconds and then go back down to the bottom of the screen and disappear. This happens everyday a few times a day.
I have tried everything, a few different AirPush detectors, anti-virus detectors, and some other stuff. I even took her SD card out and formatted it and then reinstalled it and the ad still comes back. I even hooked the phone up to the computer and deleted a bunch of stuff that I thought could be the culprit and it still comes back.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you get rid of it? I am trying to avoid doing a hard reset on her phone because then she will have to reinstall everything again. Any and al help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

to further clarify, these ads come up even when she does not have an app open. Usually first thing in the morning there is one. It can be seen even before she unlocks her phone or as she is about to unlock her phone. It is the strangest thing and most annoying and we can't figure out what it causing it or how to get rid of it. Thanks all.

Do they pop up when the card is not in the phone?

Yeah, this sounds like an app was downloaded that has ads... Usually silly games.

Sorry, I have been away from the forum for a month. But I have not tried to remove her SD card and see if that fixes the problem. I am aware of the problem with ads popping up while playing games but these ads pop up randomly even when she hasn't touched her phone in hours. Like if she goes to bed and then wakes up the next morning and unlocks her phone there will be an ad there at the bottom of the screen. then it goes away. I will give that removing the SD card a try. I will remove it from her phone when we go to bed and then see what happens in the morning. I just find it strange that no AD detector app or virus detecting app can find the culprit.
Thanks for the help guys. I will let you know how it turns out with the removing the SD card. =)

Did her old phone do this? I'd say do a factory reset and try a fresh sd card. It might be something imbedded in the card from an app. Even though you don't have the app installed it's, for some reason still seeing the data that makes the ads pop up.

Yes, I am having the same problem on my brand new device. The only thing I have downloaded is SkyVi - Wonder if that is the problem. Think I'm going to contact Verizon (my wireless carrier) and see what they say. This ad pops up while I am having a conversation with someone as well. Sheeesh!!
