droid razr maxx play store not working.

i have two phones sharing the same account, my gmail, one with a number and one without. it has been like this with both working for about a month and a half (boyfriend uses the one with no number, and we like to share applications we buy, which is why we share an account), here recently, about four days ago, it has just came up google play store not working and then closed. no force close or report or wait, nothing. nobody seems to have an answer, and it is really starting to bug me. we have tried force stopping, hard restart, restart, clearing the cache, nothing has worked. the nearest verizon store is about two hours away, and chances are they wont know anything, so we really dont want to make that trip. any answers?
