Droid Razr or Bionic. Reception for Text and Call most important

Dr. in small Hospital. Not well versed on Smart phones. Verizon primary service provider rural area on coast of Florida in the panhandle. No 4g available. . First phone was HTC incredible, No bars or service in the building. Next phone DX, 2 bars max, drops in and out. However can make calls but often have to repeat myself or call sometimes drops all together. A patient had the Droid Bionic. Had 4 Bars in center of medical office building was texting and making call without difficulty.

First Question: Is there a reason that the Bionic would get better reception than the DX in this situation?

Second Question: Is the Bionic or Razr a better choice reception wise? When by word of mouth and informal testing shows Moto phones to work best on the campus of hospital.
