Anyone else intrigued by this phone? I wasn't until today for some reason. I'm actually considering making the jump. Love my MXPE, and every other X that I have owned. But, on apper they seem like the same phone, the Turbo is a bit smaller but has an AMOLED screen which I prefer. Also, better battery life obviously. It is does have a smaller screen, but still bigger than the 2014 X.

Not jumping just yet...just wonder if anyone else is considering this phone and what "major" differences there are that I may be missing?

Re: Droid Turbo 2

After having this MXPE for almost 2 months I don't think I could ever have another carrier branded phone. It's just so nice not to have any carrier bloat or crappy skin covering the OS(not that the droids would).

Yep, that would be one hesitation. But, the Moto's are as clean as it comes as far as bloat, and every other Moto I've had was on Big Red and there wasn't much bloat. I just disable whatever I can. So, yes the MXPE is as clean as it gets, but I don't think the Turbo would be that bad.

That being said, Verizon did put a huge, terrible check logo right smack on the bottom front on the phone. Just ridiculous.

I would love a bigger battery but no carrier bloat for me, thanks. Plus I'm not on Verizon.

Yeah, where I live Verizon and AT&T are the only reliable options...and I receive a great employee discount (22%) on big red. So, it's a pretty easy decision for me to stay with them.

Re: Droid Turbo 2

Turbo 2 has large bezels, large footprint (for a 5.4") and generally not very attractive to look at compared to the X Pure. Battery yes. Carrier lock, bloatware, no.

Size comparison: Moto X Pure Edition vs. DROID TURBO 2

The TURBO 2 is wider than the Moto X. :/

I doubt the DROID TURBO 2 is SIM locked to Verizon.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I looked at the Turbo 2 and was impressed. The shatter proof glass, larger battery and wireless charging makes it very attractive to switch. I did read Verizon has over 50 apps installed on the phone and they would not disclose when the phone will be updated to Android M, just said it would be which has me concerned. Also from what I see the case availability for the Droid 2 turbo seems to already be better than the Pure. I really want a folio case for my Pure and they already have a few for the Turbo 2.

50 apps is kinda crazy. And yes, my main concern would prob be updates...or lack thereof. I wouldn't worry about on the Pure as much.

I too was trying to decide between these two phones. I even delayed my MXPE purchase until after I could hold the Turbo 2 in my hand.

In the end they are very similar phones, each with their own pros and cons that are very hard to compare.

What sealed the deal for me, though was price. I couldn't justify spending $624 for the Turbo 2's pros when I could get an equally amazing phone (with its own pros) for a little more than $400.

I am in this same predicament as well. I have been wanting the new moto x pure for a awhile and just when I want to pull the trigger, the Droid turbo 2 comes walking on by strutting her stuff. I'm coming from a irritating nexus 4 so both of these phones are an upgrade no matter what. They both for me have their pros and cons:

turbo: shatterproof screen, good battery, better specs
moto pure : no bloat ware, quicker updates,

And for me price won't be an issue since I will be a new customer and can get $300 off a new turbo so actually the moto x pure would be more expensive

I would love to hear some input as well as to in the long run what is the better buy?

DROID TURBO 2 vs. Moto X Pure Edition vs. G4?

I just looked at the Turbo 2 and couldn't justify it over my Turbo. Would the Moto X Pure be worth looking into? I really am looking for a better camera. Or, do I try to find a G4 used? I absolutely do not want Samsung. Thoughts? I know a lot of it is subjective to personal opinion, but looking for pros and cons. Cheers!

Re: Turbo 2 or Moto X Pure or G4

Either the Turbo 2 or Moto X Pure Edition would give you a better camera that what you have with your current Turbo.

I'm in the same boat. I'm between the turbo 2 and the pure.

Or one of the Nexus phones. They have better cameras than the Turbo. And, you'll get updates...
