The exploit has yet to be found in order to root the Turbo.

There is no root method currently available for the Droid Turbo and as long as nobody has claimed the $3K bounty posted at XDA you can bet nobody has figured it out yet.

I wouldn't trust anything transferred to a phone from any site I didn't know. Apparently it is doing a data transfer from a backup someone created with "root" access. I don't know what else may be in there. I would treat it like the Chinese Lenovo machines coming with malware installed on them.
