I KNOW, I KNOW I asked twice already.
I was just in a Verizon store ready to upgrade to the Droid, when the rep told me to WAIT for the X on the 16th? (sorry if I got the date wrong) & it was like he was making me not upgrade to the Droid :P Now before I get bombarded with, "GET THE X, IT'S 100 TIMES BETTER THAN THE DROID!" comments, just wait, I like a physical keyboard too now. Are you guys all sure I should get an X ? Any advantages, any disadvantages? & If I have an annual upgrade (takes 100$ off the upgrade price) they both will be about 99$ for me. So yeah, Droid or Droid X.

I guess it is just your preference. I thought for the longest time that I could never use a touch screen and needed a physical keyboard. After getting an ipod touch I have gotten to love the touch screen. My hubby now asked me to text ppl on his physical keyboard and it takes a minute to get used to it. The touch screen is so nice!!!
I will be getting the X on the 15th. The Droid IMO is almost outdated, the droid 2 will be coming soon after to which will be just like the Droid.

Seriously, the only thing me not wanting to buy the X is the Droid's design. I love the Droid's appearance & the Droid 2 isn't as good looking in my eyes. ;P
OH & I hate the Droid Eye thing every time the phone boots up, it's kinda creepy.

no, the boot-up screen! :P & plus it's on the box D: & you cant change the boot up screen because the Droid X cant be rooted!

Can't be rooted YET.

I know at least Pete (Bugless Beast Roms) is looking at developing for the X

Personally Id get the Droid X unless you want to wait a month + for the Incredible. Or you can get the new iPhone with antenna fix lol.

BLEH, AT&T & iPhone.
I guess I'll get the Droid X, (since I have a NE2 Upgrade) & then save money to buy an Xbox 360 Slim haha. & doe's the X have accessories like a case that will have a stand like the Evo 4G?

There are cases with kickstand options. And the Droidx does have car and home docks.

In My Case

In my case, I'm sticking with the Original Droid (despite the D-X being only $50 more); however, it's because the D-X is almost *too large*, given that it's larger than even the Droid. Also, unlike lots of Android users, I won't be using it much for data (multimedia, yes; however, that will be by and large transfers from my PC). Also, the 24-bit (16.7 million color) screen whacks any handset from RIM (even the S2, which is RIM's closest competition, has but 65,536 colors), in addition to the larger screen. The original Droid is shaping up to be one hot multimedia-alternative phone for average Joes.
