I'm running the Simply Stunning Custom Rom on my Droid X and today I received the Droid X 2.3.340 update pushed to my phone. Is this supposed to happen? I haven't changed the kernel on this phone and I still have all the blur on it. I'm afraid that if it installs on my phone it may brick it if anything is missing or changed like the Sykpe app. Has anyone else experienced this and what do you recommend that I do for this problem?

Resistance is futile, restore your device back to stock, and accept the OTA update and become assimilated. ;)

THEN root and load your custom roms. :)

You will benefit from the new kernel, bootloader, radio file, and system files the update brings.

Lol, I thought I could take the cheap way out without reverting it back to stock. Anyone have the step by step instructions for flashing back to Stock 2.2.1 SBF file? I found the file on Rootzwiki for Windows, but not the detailed instructions so I don't F it up.

When you rooted your stock device, did you make a backup with Clockwork Recovery before you started changing things up?

If you did, just do a restore to that backup and accept the OTA. Then use Z4 Root to get root back. Simple as that.

Oh yeah, I definitely did a back up before adding any custom roms. I believe I tried to flash back to that rom and received an error. Maybe it was because I changed the droid eye to a custom gif file. Ill try it again and see if what happens.
