First timer here:

I have searched but could not find an answer, was wondering if I can be pointed in the right direction...

I have waited for a long time to upgrade finally to Android and got the Droid X 2.2.

My concerns: Removing bloatware.

I have done my homework and finally rooted using z4 and also SU app. I also read about renaming and moving bloatware to SD card for future firmware updates.

I use the root explorer to send bloatware to SD, then when I go back into my app menu, bloatware still exists.

As always, all responses and tips are welcome and appreciated.

Could just use titaniumbackup and freeze bloetware. Itll still be there but it wont use up the proscessor or memory

Well, just from reading up on all the usefull posts on this forum, I was able to get everything without trouble.

-z4root, SU, Clockwork and a few other things. Working on Titanium backup.

Thanks everyone for the help.

Ok, so I didn't want to start a completely new thread over this but thought this one skimmed the edge of what I need help with. I am kind of stuck. I have the Droid X with Froyo 2.2 and it's rooted. SU, busybox, etc. I couldn't stand the bloatware anymore and prematurely erased it all. (Blockbuster, DLNA, Need for speed, etc.) Now that I am trying to update to gingerbread I cannot. You may or may not already know that the apps are signed by Verizon and in order to validate you must have all the bloatware the phone came with. Found that out after the fact. I have Titanium but I didn't back up the bloatware beforehand. So now I am stuck. Any suggestions?

-I thought maybe to move all have to the SD, wipe the phone, restore with Titanium but I am not sure that a master reset would replace the bloatware.

Any suggestions is GREATLY appreciated. I have been battling this for almost a year now. :\

In this link under extras in the first post (4 and 4a will return the phone back to stock with all the bloatware included)

Thank you! It looks like 4a is only if you already have 2.3. Am I correct in assuming that?

Its just the update number. It has nothing to do with Gingerbread. Its the latest Froyo update. I used the same one 4 months ago to put my phone back to factory settings when I sold my phone. I did the same thing as you and deleted all my bloat without backing it up. It will put all the bloat back on your phone and restore everything just like when you first bought the phone but you will still have root.

I don't know if you know anything about the actual flashing of the phone using RSDLite but I am running into issues using that method. Can you help or point me into the direction of help?
