Droid X Camera Question

Ok here it is. I was looking at various pitcures taken with the Droid X and the majority of them looks GREAT! I tried some of the same shots and ALL of mine came out grainy. I dont how to improve my camera quality. Any pointers?

Most recent show was on 8MP Macro of a toy with flash on indoors.

Yeah. I took some pics earlier today at the beach which was nice a bright. Grainy.

Ok my best advice here we go:

First and foremost clean your camera lens with either your shirt or more preferably a microfiber cloth.

Second in your camera app, go to settings and keep ISO at 100. Only use Auto in EXTREMELY well lit scenario's ie - out at the beach like you said.

Third since I assume you have Froyo, only use the onscreen camera shutter button. Pressing the hard button can cause some shake and add blur to the shot.

That's really all you need to know. Good luck.

I'll throw one more thing in...If you're getting direct light on the lens, use your free hand to provide some shade over the lens. The glare screws everything up.

Yeah I noticed that alot. It makes the shots come out extremely grainy.

So far the only thing I miss about my Fascinate is the camera on that thing. I cannot believe how close they were to looking like my DSLR shots. Not super close but decently close...looked about as good as a point and shoot 10mp camera.

I have been using vignette for about a week now and I feel like I am getting better quality.

I have said this before that the pictures look grainy and that my blackberry took better pics (I know one is 3.2 and the other is 8.0) but its the graininess and the lighting. Any ideas on a fix? I followed everyones advice, but still having some issues.

This is the one thing that is going to scare me about the X. I am currently on a fascinate and like droiddev says, the pictures just come out unbelievably good. it really is insane.

I just don't wanna loose my cam quality

Im OK with it because I do have my DSLR. But it is nice to be able to take good quality pics with the X when the need arises.

lol just lanyard it to your X if you get one.

All things considered I like the X more. Only thing is the darn camera. Just have to remember nothing is perfect

What is strange is several reviews say the X camera is better than the Fascinate.

I agree the Facinate takes good pictures but I think when you compare them to the X's it is real close.

Maybe I am missing something.

I think we all are. I was looking in the thread with all the images taken with the X then at the images i am taking in similar lighting with same settings and they look like crap with grain.

You sure its not a setting you tweaked or didn't tweak?

I just snapped a couple shots to make sure I'm not crazy and they looked pretty good.
