Is there any way to stop the Droid X gallery from automatically scanning for new pictures/videos?

Usually it's the other way around .. how to get the Gallery to scan for new pictures/videos :) A trick I learned is to put a zero byte file named ".nomedia" in the folder you don't want to show in the Gallery. Using ASTRO or other file managers, you can copy an existing .nomedia file from another folder into the folder you don't want the Gallery to scan.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that.

Does this work for pics or just videos?
