Droid x wont factory reset

Hey guys wondering if you could help me out. My Droid X started acting strange out of nowhere yesterday. It force closes apps at random times and randomly will delete my contacts, but when I restart my phone everything's back to normal. When i try to restore to factory settings it just straight up doesn't work, even apps I have uninstalled are back again.I've tried restoring like 20 times and it boots up like nothing happened. Sorry if this is vague, but I have searched the net hours and cant find any solutions. Any help would be appreciated for a noob.
Edit: btw im running 2.3.3

Under Menu, Settings, Privacy, uncheck the Automatic Restore option before doing the Factory Data Reset.

I would call verizon and get the motorola tech support number They will help you for free
