Droid3 or Stratosphere?

Are there any great reasons to take the Droid 3 over the (less expensive) Stratosphere?

Both have questionable cameras, the Strat as LTE, both have extended battery options, physical keyboards, etc.

I'm not so sure there is a clear advantage to dual core over single core at this point.... so until some new software arrives that puts huge demands on the processor, I'm not terribly concerned. (plus battery life is important)

The Droid 4 appears to have a non-replaceable battery. That is basically a killer for me. I do NOT want to fret over battery life or finding a charger.

The one thing that a Droid 3 might enjoy over a Stratosophere is that the Droid 3 might get more attention and support from developers and hackers.

As a blackberry user and android novice, this is my thinking for now.

Any thoughts?

If the physical keyboard is important to you, I'd compare the two to see if the Stratosphere measures up.

Dual-core will be important if the Droid 3 ever gets Ice Cream Sandwich. As the D3 is essentially the same hardware as the Bionic, though without LTE and 512 MB RAM and with a physical keyboard, it should be easy for Moto to create a build for it. We still do not know that they will, though.

The D3 has a higher-resolution display, though the Pentile bothers some (it does not bother me at all.) Also, the D3 has 16 GB internal storage, the Strat 4 GB internal and 4 GB microSD.

Otherwise, you've mentioned the major differences.

Go with the Stratosphere. I'm not one these guys who heralds the phone that I purchased as the Jesus phone when there are clearly better options. The 4G LTE connectivity that the Stratosphere provides is more than enough of a reason to choose it over the Droid 3 if you live in a 4G area or your area is getting 4G LTE soon. I have the Droid 3 and a 4G LTE Hotspot/Mifi because I wanted a phone with a keyboard and 4G LTE and I'm not one to sell myself short. If the Stratosphere was available at the time that the Droid 3 was released, I would've gotten it instead. The reason that the iPhone lost it's global market share the Android is lack of 4G (not 3G+ aka FauxG). Apple decided not to go with 4G (specifically 4G LTE) in favor of aesthetics (slim design) and it hurt their global market share. 4G is that good. The thing is that most phones will perform about the same using data when hooked up to a fast wifi connection. With 4G LTE, you eliminate the need to constantly be hooked up to wifi, thus you essentially have fast data speeds on the go, which is the purpose of buying a 4G phone. If you're always gonna be on wifi, then the Droid 3 is the better choice, because of it's ability to render graphics a little faster. But if you're not gonn be on wifi the majority of the time, then you should pick the Stratosphere.

Also, with a 4G phone, you can have the ability to talk on your phone and use data at the same time.
