Drop and scratch protection

I need help deciding on a combination which will protect the phone from scratches (I've heard the graphite one chips easily) and drops.

I've ordered an Intelliarmor glass screen protector for the front. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting... for crash guard to release their bumper for the side.

But what about the back? I've considered a skin, perhaps from dbrand, but I'm concerned I'll be making the phone look a bit fake as well as covering up its natural beauty. I currently have an HTC M8 and I keep it in a Spigen Slim Armor. The advantage is I can take the phone out and enjoy it naked whenever I want. But the Nexus 6p is already pretty big and I'm trying to avoid adding a case if possible.

I know you can get some transparent sticker like protectors, but do you think they'd be suitable for the aluminium back of the phone? They seem to go ok with the iPhone but the Nexus finish is matte.

We are planning on producing both the screen protectors and bumper for both Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. It should become available for pre-order on our website in the upcoming weeks.
The screen protector should be ready for mid November while the bumper will probably be a month later mid December. We hope that is not too late for you!

Thank you so much for this post. I never heard of them, but this looks like a perfect solution for me. I hate cases, but the phone is like a bar of soap - I can't hold onto it, and I can't pick it up from a table unless I use two hands. I hope they come out with it soon!
