Dual sims cards

I have a old T mobile prepaid where can't add data plan. I am looking in to Nokia 2 and it has dual sim. Can I use one for phone and the other sim for a data plan from any one? ( I know not Verizon )

Not sure about Nokia 2, but every dual sim I have owned in recent times allows you to choose calls from one sim and data from another. I am guessing the Nokia 2 will be the same
