Dual Speakers?

Does anyone know whether or not the S8/S8+ have stereo speakers using the earpiece as a speaker like the iPhone 7 does? This Axon 7 has really got me spoiled in the speaker department.

There seem to be conflicting reports on whether this phone has only one speaker for mono sound, or 2 speakers for stereo sound (reference one example article mention: https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/03/the-galaxy-s8-is-samsungs-biggest-and-safest-bet-yet/ ) As I was considering pre-ordering this at midnight tonight, and my decision hinges on which specs are the correct ones, will you clarify this for me? thx

nope, same single speaker muffled sound as the S7

muffled sound?? S7?? Not in my experience. It's bright--and not quite as good for music as my Note 2. I've heard newer Notes than the 2 and none of them could match the sound quality of the Note 2, which I find totally mystifying but true.

I don't think so... It wasn't mentioned at all in the presentation and by reviewers. Still, I'm pretty happy they "offer" proper earbuds.

It's a single speaker. I played with one at Best Buy and covered the bottom speaker. No more sound after that.

This is why I never trust Samsung reps about anything. If you call 10 of them you'll get 11 different stories.

Oh my god... I just had one of the longest, most so-completely-insane-you'd-never-believe-it experiences today contacting Samsung to follow up on this question, given my previous online chat with them. Just for this one straight-forward, basic question:

"Does this phone have one mono speaker... or 2 stereo ones?"

I can now say from this one saga, that you are sooo correct about your assessment, Eddster. My experience today involved about 8 different representatives transferring me back and forth between 4 departments... then back and forth then back again, ticket reference numbers associated with my question that, my upon follow-up after their failure to call me back as promised to finally answer this question, wasn't actually a functioning ticket reference number that anyone knew how to use to pull up my open case.

They absolutely... un... freaking... raveled...
In every. Single. Department.
I have never in my life, in the history of my costumer service experiences ever... seen anything... quite like this.

They are apparently quite a devastating mess over there. I easily must have been communicating with them collectively for over 3 and a half hours. Complete systemic meltdown of their being stumped in every single Samsung department, from Sales to Tech Support, then back to sales, then back to tech support, in their being able to in any way whatsoever figure out... how to tell... what kind of speaker... their own phone has.

I now finally understand that this must have been the type of chaotic company-wide confusion culture, which still apparently prevalent to thriving degrees today, whose underpinnings allow said company to formerly make a phone that seems to be absolutely amazing until it explodes. Then make it again.

I cancelled my order with Verizon. With this one insane saga today, I'm gonna follow my instincts and steer way the hell clear of products their clearly unstable system of management/operations puts out. I simply can't allow myself to trust products from companies with this level of chaos baked-in at even this simple level of operations, especially now given their recent alarming track record.
