I'm about to get a dumb phone. No Android/iOS, just a flip phone with no data. Is there a way to do SMS/MMS with my phone number from my Nexus 7? I'm aware of apps like "VERIZON MESSAGES" in the Google Play Store. But I might not be with Verizon. I've also seen apps that sync your Android Phone SMS/MMS and Tablet SMS/MMS, but I'm not going to able to do that.

I know I could do a Google Voice number for texting from my tablet, but then I'd be using 2 phone numbers. Pretend I know very little about apps like WhatsApp or Kik. I don't really care that my phone and tablet might be out of sync message log wise. Is this possible to do using my 1 number? So what's the best way to go about doing this? I'm open to all kinds of options. If there is no way to do it with 1 number, what's the best to do it?

Is the nexus 7 wifi or lte? I used a n7lte for about a year as about a 70% phone replacement, between hangouts and Skype. My suggestion would be to have the tablet be your primary number, and the phone as backup.

If you need the phone as primary, and the nexus is wifi only, I'm not familiar with any tethering capable flip phone.

I was working in Morocco, and the galaxy ace they gave me left a lot to be desired. The lte tablet was worth every penny.
