dumb question about updating

Ok I love my X but I was having a lot of force closes, phone dialer not working, taking 30 seconds to start ringing etc. I got a little frustrated and decided to check out a new phone. Don't want to deal with refurbs so I got the Charge. Anyway 3 days after I got the Charge we get the news about GB. I still have a week to return the charge. Do I need to do anything to get the X updated? The charge is now the main line and I have two other lines with dumbphones, one of which I used to upgrade the charge. Does the X have to be put back on the account? Help?

You can add it to one of your other accounts and find the manual update. Im sure someone here has a link to the update.zip file. Good luck!

thanks but the other accts are phones for family members. Can I just take the charge off for a few minutes while I update the X and then switch it back?
