Duo vs carrier video chat

So I switched to TMobile but bought myself a used unlocked fold 3. I know in the past the unlocked one you had to use duo bc it didn't work with the carrier video calling. I was thinking about flashing TMO firmware on the phone and curious if that would bring back the native carrier video call option.

Recalling what I read on XDA, flashing a carrier specific ROM will install carrier specific apps and settings and will work with carrier specific features.
