Has anyone seen why when I go to my contacts everything looks ok but when I go to edit a contact inside it's doubled or triple? The duplicates are identical. I've went and cleared the data for contacts and even wiped my phone and started over. It's something on my google account end. I logged into gmail and looked at my contacts but can't see anything wrong. If anybody knows what might cause this and how to fix it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! My phone is the Google N1.

Do you have move than one place you've stored your contacts. When you phone syncs it will sync with all your activated email contacts...and if you have contacts saved in to different places then you can get duplicates....one other problem I've seen is that for some reason google contacts will update and not overwrite ur current contact,,but add to it

Syncing contacts from more than one Google Account can cause this too.

I've been in the same boat in the past. Duplication is really frustrating and usually takes place after and during syncing. I used Scrubly Duplicate Contacts Remover and this really works well for me. Maybe you can try using the same tool. Just give it a try. Hope this helps. Thanks.

This is normal in Android. Each of those entries is being pulled from different sources (Gmail, Facebook, etc.) and aggregated into one contact. This is a good thing... you don't want all the information fragmented, do you?
