duplicate facebook notifications cause of fb app and social networking

i've searched with no luck on this one.

is there a way to shut off notifications from social networking? i get a notification from that as well as the facebook app and would only like to get the fb notifications. i realize i could delete the fb account from social networking but then the numbers and pictures for my fb contacts wont get synced.

I dont use the Social Networking FB. I use only the official FB app. It syncs my pics and contact from FB fine.

There has to be an option to turn it off in settings.

Go to messaging and then settings. There is a way to turn off messaging notification.
