Duplicate Unlock Methods

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of an issue with setting up my unlock methods that's driving me crazy. In order to use the fingerprint unlock, you have to have set either a pin or a pattern as a backup. This is fine, but when I try to unlock it with my fingerprint, it tells me I have to use the backup method instead, per my security settings. I never tried to set it that way, and I can't figure out how to change that. Essentially, I am unable to use fingerprint unlock because it forces me to use the backup method when I try to.

Can someone help with this?

Once every 24 hours or so and once every reboot the backup option is required. Does it require you to use the backup method every time or just occasionally?

It is every time, unfortunately.

And there is no error message, like that it couldn't read it or anything like that? My first guess would be that you should retrain the FPS. This is on an S8?

I came across an old thread for an S7 Edge, and their issue ended up being mine. I was using an app that adds a screen off button to my home screen. It turns out that this was the issue. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that this was the issue. When I stopped using that, everything started working fine. I got a new app for this now 'Screen Lock Pro' and this one doesn't have the problem.
